Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Serves 4

Do you have any family members that turn their noses up at anything green on their plate? Anyone that would run a mile rather than eat an avocado? As crazy as these peeps are, here is a sweet treat where they will never even know they are enjoying the healthy goodness and nutrients from the potassium rich avo ;)

The avocado makes this simple mousse into a velvety rich delight! Avocado for desert?  I don't mind if i do.


  1. Put your chocolate chips in a microwavable bowl and slowly melt them by checking and stirring every 20 seconds to prevent burning.
  2. Alternatively put your chips into a large heat proof bowl. Bring a pan of water to boil, then to simmer and place the chocolate bowl over the top, making sure the bowl doesn't touch the water. Stir the chips every 30 seconds and once melted remove from the heat and allow to cool.
  3. As soon as you have peeled your avocado put it in your food processor along with the honey, milk and vanilla and blitz until smooth.
  4. Add the melted chocolate and blend until it is all incorporated.
  5. You can now spoon this into serving dishes, cover and refrigerate, or if you are feeling a bit fancy, spoon the mousse into a piping or zip lock bag (snip the corner of the zip lock bag) and pipe into a vessel of your choice and refrigerate until it's time to eat.

This mousse is also perfect for my chocolate mousse cupcakes.

You will need:

½ cup of dark chocolate chips

¼ cup of almond milk

2 tablespoons of honey

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

2 ripe avocados, peeled and de-stoned
