Chili and Lemon Dark Chocolate

Makes 15

Spice up your life!

I am a big fan of spicy food, but I don't have much of a sweet tooth....that is until the combination of spice meets chocolate rocked my taste buds!

As we know, eating a little dark chocolate each day, may improve cardiovascular health and spicy foods rev up your metabolism for fat burning potential. It was only natural that I would want to combine the two and along with the tangy lemon zest they are a delightful sweet and spicy bite.

Embrace the spice and enjoy this heart healthy treat....there's a party in your mouth and you’re invited.


  1. Wash and dry your lemons.
  2. Zest them.
  3. Break the block of chocolate into smaller pieces.
  4. Bring a pan of water to boil and turn down the heat to a simmer, place a heat proof bowl over the pan and add your chocolate.
  5. Melt the chocolate over the heat. Keep your eye on it.
  6. When the chocolate has melted remove it from the heat.
  7. Stir the lemon zest and cayenne pepper into the melted chocolate.
  8. Spoon the chocolate into your moulds.
  9. Pick up the mould with both hands and lightly tap it on a surface to ensure the chocolate has filled each space.
  10. Pop the mould into the fridge for at least an hour to set.
  11. Remove the chocolate from the moulds and nom the spicy goodness.

You will need:

200g dark chocolate

The zest of 5 lemons

1 ½ teaspoons of ground cayenne pepper

A cute silicone chocolate mould
